Important Student Travel Information For Your Field Trips, Travel, and Educational Tours

Ready to discover the world? Let EFT be your guide!

Step One: Set Yourself Up For Success!

Getting a Passport
If you are traveling internationally you will need a valid passport. If you have a passport double check the expiration date to make sure it is valid. If you do not have a passport, get one as soon as possible as the process can take time and you don’t want to miss out on your trip by waiting to the last minute. Planning ahead will assist you with avoiding late fees, penalties and sheer disappointment if you cannot go on your trip.

Visit the U.S. State Department Passport Information page for complete information on how to apply for a new passport.

The More the Merrier
Recruit your friends to go on the trip with you. Memories like these will last a lifetime and strengthen your friendships. Traveling also teaches you many life lessons and gives you an opportunity to discover the world around you.

Show Me the Money
It is important to meet payment deadlines because all travel arrangements for your group including: flights, hotel accommodations, on-tour transportation, optional excursions and more must be finalized to guarantee pricing and avoid late fees.

Fundraising Made Easy
Since EFT is the leading Educational Field Trip provider we have lots of contacts, as well as, proven and effective ways to make your trip affordable. Visit the EFT fundraising page, for more information. Before you know it you will be saying, “Bon Voyage!”

Step Two: What’s the Plan?

After the payment deadline has passed ask your Teacher, Parent Liaison, or Organization Leader for the details of your group’s hotel reservations, flights, meals, attractions and on-tour activities. Start pairing up in groups of 4 for any trips involving hotel stays.

For weather, packing and travel tips go to your destination web page and EFT packing list page. During this time, you should also become familiar with the language and culture of the area you are traveling to. It is important to be aware of and respect different countries beliefs and values.

Step Three: Enjoy the Ride!

It's finally time to take your trip!

All EFT tours include a qualified EFT Tour Director. Your Director is a qualified expert and native of the area you are traveling to and will advise you on the best sites to see, restaurants to eat at and the best way to get around each city so that you are immersed in the culture and have an authentic experience. They are also fluent in English and the native language of the country for international tours and are available to assist you with resolving any problems that may arise on your trip.

Step Four: Share Your Story!

Now that you've returned, it's time to share your best and worst moments on the trip. What was the funniest thing that happened? What was your favorite site to see? What was the most important thing you learned? You can post pictures on our Facebook, and other social networking site pages and share them with your friends and family. Make sure to tag EFT!
