Breakfast
Rosa Parks Museum and Children’s Wing - Visitors board a 60-seat bus in the Children's Wing of the Rosa Parks Museum, experiencing a historical reconstruction of events in the Civil Rights Movement. Walk next door to the interpretive museum to learn the story of Rosa Parks refusing to give up her bus seat to a white person in 1955, as required by city ordinance. This event sparked a larger event the following year, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, organized by Dr. King, which started the Modern Civil Rights Movement.

Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church - Three blocks from the State Capital, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached his first sermon at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. Your group will walk in the footsteps of Dr. King and see a grand mural in the basement depicting scenes and personalities from the Civil Rights Movement.
Civil Rights Memorial - This museum honors 40 individuals who died during the Civil Rights Movement. Highlights include a short film, "Faces in the Water", and an opportunity to join thousands who have added their names to the "Wall of Tolerance."

Lowndes County Interpretive Center - The Interpretive Center features a variety of Civil Rights events including the establishment of "Tent City", the temporary dwellings which benefited families lodged by white land owners.
Lunch
National Voting Rights Museum - The National Voting Rights Museum and Institute chronicles and preserves the historical journey for the right to vote that began when the seeds of democracy were first planted by the "founding fathers" in 1776.
Edmund-Pettus Bridge – This is the infamous site of the conflict of “Bloody Sunday”, March 7, 1965, where armed officers attacked peaceful civil rights demonstrators.

Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site - Since the summer of 2008 this historic site commemorates the contribution of the Tuskegee Airmen of WWII, who helped end segregation in the US military.
Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center - These rotating exhibits recognize the contributions of Native Americans, Europeans, and African Americans.

Tuskegee University - Students will tour the campus of an original black college and symbol of African American achievement. Your group will also visit The Oaks, private residence of Booker T. Washington, which are now a museum and the George Washington Carver Museum.

16th Street Baptist Church-The 16th Street Baptist Church bombing was a racially motivated terrorist incident in the United States. It was a turning-point in the U.S. civil-rights movement of the mid 20th century.
Lunch
Kelly – Ingram Park - in 1963 Birmingham city police department turned high pressure water hoses and dogs loose on a group of black schoolchildren and other demonstrators. The incident was caught on TV news cameras and shown world wide.
The Old Federal Courthouse – This is significant because this is the jail where Martin Luther King Jr. wrote his famous letter, "A Letter from the Birmingham Jail."
Civil Rights Institute – This center was created for education and discussion about civil and human rights issues.
