Canada School Tour Sample Itinerary
Montreal Class Trip Day 1
Tour Montreal- learn about Montreal’s 350-year French influence history, which began with the founding of a Christian mission. Guided tour will include visits to old Montreal and Notre Dame islands, Montreal’s harbor, the Latin quarter, St. Laurent street, and mount royal for a spectacular view of the city skyline. Tour futuristic Olympic park, built for the 1976 summer Olympic games and currently home to the Montreal Expos. Guided walking tour – visit the Vieux Montreal, City hall, and the old port of Montreal harbor.
Quebec School Tour Day 2
Tour Quebec- enjoy a panoramic tour of this exciting city originally established as a fortress and port on the St. Lawrence river by French explorer Samuel de Champlain in 1608. Your tour introduces you to Quebec’s charming old city, the 17th century heart if this French influenced province. Visit Le Parc National des Champs de Bastille to see the plains of Abraham where general James Wolfe’s British army defeated the marquis de Mont clam’s troops in 1759, ending French rule in Quebec.
Quebec Field Trip Day 3
Tour begins exploring son et’ lumie in Musee du fort. Then enjoy a walking tour of the place royal and Vieux-Quebec. Also see the cathedral and Basilica. Walk down the oldest street in north America, petit-Champlain. After lunch tour the heart of old Quebec and learn about North American Indian Culture. At the Fornel House. Explore the Quatier Petit Champlain with it’s many boutiques on several levels. Next enjoy the Quebec experience, a historically based electronic 3D sound and light show describing the historic and cultural highlights of this capital city. Citadel Field Trip Day 4
Visit the Citadel to see the changing of the guards. Perched above the St. Lawrence river this magnificent fortress is still used by Canadian troops. Near the citadel you’ll see Port St. Louis, a wide medieval gate through the city walls constructed in the late 1880s. After lunch explore the port and end up amidst the festive bustle of place Jacques Cartier, it’s the old sight of the city’s oldest market.
Montgomery Fall School Trip Day 5
Visit the Montgomery falls park, where waterfalls cascade from a height of 270 feet (100 feet higher than Niagara falls) also, were the Montgomery and St. Lawrence rivers meet.
